Fancy to see you here!

I am Omar, a visual journalist from Spain who loves creating stories in photo, video, and written format.

My main areas of interest are climate change, conflict, gender, nature, and migration. I have conducted projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Lebanon among other places

  • Returning home: Antakya four months on (2023)
  • Life after America: Under Taliban Rule (2023)
  • How Climate Change Drowned Pakistan (2022)

We live in an ever more polarized world. The war in Ukraine, climate change, loss of biodiversity, and migration are some of the challenges faced by our generation. Addressing power imbalances, giving a voice to the voiceless, and accountability are more needed than ever before in order to move forward.

My love for visuals is born from the deep belief that stories bring us closer together. Meaningful stories should open a window to the realities of our world and make us challenge our preconceived ideas about one another.

About
About
I learned this lesson before I initiated in this world of capturing stories when I traveled to Bangladesh in 2019. There, I met Rohingya refugees on the border with Myanmar. I was seeking grief, connection, and ultimately a deeper understanding of our shared human vulnerability. We, humans, are much more similar than what we often realize. Now, I am eager to share those stories with the world!

Also, I hold a degree in Economics & Politics with International Relations from the University of Bristol.
